MOON and BACK’s flagship restaurant, located in the heart of Nishiki Market in Kyoto. Guests can enjoy tableside-seared Japanese Wagyu ramen, chicken paitan ramen, teriyaki chicken, vegan dishes, and gluten-free options at the same table. English menus and English-speaking staff make the restaurant welcoming for international visitors and families with children.

香ばしい胡麻のコクとスパイスの刺激を楽しめる、濃厚な担々麺です。クリーミーなスープに辛味を効かせた、食欲をそそる一杯です。
グルテンフリー麺への変更は可能ですが、スープのかえしには通常の醤油を使用しており、グルテンフリー醤油への変更はできません。そのため、ラーメン全体としてはグルテンフリーではありません。

We can accommodate groups of up to 31 guests. While many traditional ramen restaurants have limited seating, MOON and BACK locations are generally able to welcome groups. For larger groups, we recommend Nishiki Market Alley by MOON and BACK, which offers a more spacious dining area. Advance reservations and inquiries are recommended for group dining.

Q. Do you offer gluten-free ramen?
A. Gluten-free ramen made with gluten-free noodles and sauces is available. The noodles are cooked in a separate pot. However, ingredients containing gluten are also handled in our kitchen, and some preparation areas and equipment are shared. We cannot guarantee the complete absence of cross-contact. Guests with allergies or coeliac disease should speak with our staff before ordering.

Q. Is this a vegan or dedicated gluten-free restaurant?
A. No. We are not a vegan restaurant or a dedicated gluten-free restaurant. Our goal is to create a place where guests with different dietary preferences—including those who eat meat or seafood, vegans, vegetarians, gluten-free diners and guests who avoid pork—can enjoy a meal together at the same table.
We also handle animal-derived ingredients and ingredients containing gluten. Cooking equipment, facilities and preparation areas may be shared. Guests with severe allergies or concerns about cross-contact should speak with our staff before ordering.
